Tyler Millwood and Dale Thurman left their front row starting positions in the Super Late Model feature Saturday at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA and staged a side by side duel for the first portion of the 30 lap race that had the crowd on their feet.
While both drivers swapped the lead several times, it was Thurman who finally took the point for good with Millwood hot on his tail. All the while, as the crowd had their eyes glued up front, no one took notice of defending track champion Michael Page making his way to the front after starting in the rear of the field. Page moved into the third spot in the closing laps and finished there following Thurman in first ahead of second place Millwood.
Completing the top five were Donald McIntosh followed by Jason Croft.
Michael Brewer took his second win of the season in the Limited Late Model feature crossing the checkers with Oliver Gentry following in second. Following third through fifth were Jake Herrell, Mark Bunch and Scottie Pritchett.
The Crate Late Model feature would see several drivers making their best finishes of the season as Justin Wakefield broke into victory lane for the first time since 2007. Billy Coley brought the car normally driven by Phil Coltrane home for second followed by Tom Watson, Dylan Carnes and George Ervin.
In other action of the night, Kenny Taylor took the win in the Super Bombers, with Dan Meadows taking the Economy Bomber feature. Shannon Etheridge would grab another win in the Pony Class while Brian Dempsey brought home the Cruiser money.
