Toby Porter made life in the fast lane look easy as the was the top qualifier, took the lead on the first lap, and won going away Saturday night at Greenville-Pickens Speedway in Greenville, SC.
Porter, who is the points leader in the Late-Model Stock division, gained another handful of points over former six-time champion Marty Ward, as defending track champion Randy Porter finished third.
Bob Root was fourth, while Cole Custer, driving a Stewart-Haas development car, finished fifth. Shane Hall was sixth, as Mitchell Mote took seventh. Joey Collins was eighth and Tasha Kummer was ninth.
“I got a good start and when Marty and Randy got to racing, they let me get away,” Toby Porter said in victory lane. “It looked like Marty was reeling me at the end but I had enough lead to win.”
Porter went on to thank his pit crew and sponsors he said made it possible for his to get out front and stay there.
In the Trucks main, the most excitement came as the field came around prior to the green flag. Jamie Altop’s truck broke a critical suspension part, and had to be towed to the pits.
The remaining field regrouped, and Tim Lollis jumped out to a lead that he held throughout the race. Ryan Walker took second place, with Gene Burnett third and Michael Altop was fourth.
Kyle Ballew finished second on the track but was declared the winner when the apparent winner was disqualified. This put Travis Cox second, and Daniel Jameson was third. Scott Tyner took fourth and Brad Burns was fifth.
Chuckie Greer used the first half of the Chargers main to get in position, using the high line around the track, and once he took command he passed to the front and was never headed.
Mike Mote was second, with James Johnson third. Zach Pressley was fourth and Tim Crowe finished fifth.
Crossover moves were the ordrer of the evening in the Street Stock main, and David Rader made the most important one on the last lap. Rader took the victory, and Mark Gibson finished second. Freddie Hale, Jr., took third, and Kirk Gibson was fourth and Furman Carft celebrated his birthday by taking fifth.
Ray Mullinax was the four cylinder winner, with Tommy Davis, Jr. second and Danny Heil third. Austin Heil finished fourth, with Don Tavenia in fifth.
