Burnett Takes The Money In Anderson Renegade Race

Ricky Burnett pocketed a cool $500 for the Renegade feature win Friday night at Anderson Motor Speedway in Williamston, SC.

Burnett set the fast time in qualifying with a lap at 18.393 seconds. The dice was rolled and the top six were inverted which put Burnett on the outside of row three. Blake Gregory grabbed the lead at the start of the race and held it until lap four, when  Jim Reynolds moved to the front position. Reynolds held the lead until lap nine when he relinquished the top spot to Brian Davis. Davis held the lead for a couple of laps before he was passed by Burnett.

Once out front, Burnett led the final 14 laps of the race and took the victory. Steve Guthrie put the pressure to Burnett numerous times but failed to get past him. Burnett took home $540 for the win and $200 for the pole award. Steve Guthrie finished second. Brian Davis finished third. Blake Gregory finished fourth. Travis Cox finished fifth.

In other action, Lance Jones scored the win in the B-M Modified race. Jones grabbed the lead at the start of the race and held the top spot the first six laps of the race. On lap seven Will Ragsdale battled past Jones and took over the lead position. A caution appeared on lap ten. Following the caution Jones got the jump on the restart and regained the lead position. This time Jones would not be denied as he led the remainder of the race and took his second victory of the season. Casey Tucker finished second. Austin Northcutt finished third. Jimbo Mann finished fourth. Bryce Malcolm finished fifth.

David Darnell claimed the victory in the B Mini Stock race. Darnell led every lap of the race. Chad Campbell battled with Darnell throughout the race and made several attempts to over take him but Darnell held Campbell at bay each time he tried to move past him. Chad Campbell finished second. Dylan Hall finished third. Ben Kay finished fourth. Ryan Lockwood finished fifth.

Andrew Brown toppd the field in the Legends race. Brown led every lap of the race on his way to the victory. Kevin Wilson raced with Brown the final five laps but slipped in turn four on the final lap and dropped back to third. Rex Brown finished second. Kevin Wilson finished third. Lee Jordan finished fourth. Cory Parham finished fifth.

Barry Tollison Sr. scored the win in the Super Renegade feature. Sammy Staggs led every lap of the race and was never challenged for the top spot and went on to receive the checkered flag. Following the race Staggs failed post race inspection and the victory was awarded to Barry Tollison Sr whom crossed the finish line second. Barry Tollison Jr finished second. Eddie Henderson finished third. Whitey Suttles finished fourth. Matt Anderson finished fifth.

Tommy Davis claimed the victory in the Front Wheel Drive race. Donovan Beacham grabbed the lead at the start of the race and held it until lap five. Chris Harvell took over the lead and held it until lap twelve when his hood came unhinged and blew up into his windshield. Tommy Davis took advantage of Harvell’s misfortune and drove by him to take the lead. Once out front Davis led the final laps and took his seventh victory of the season. Donovan Beacham finished second. Wayne Cowart finished third. BJ Davis finished fourth. CJ Huitt finished fifth.
