Chatsworth, GA’s Chip Brindle scored his first career Super Late Model win at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA Saturday night when he passed Luther Jenkins on the outside groove on lap twelve and never looked back. As Brindle extended his lead, Jenkins spent the next several laps holding off the challenges of Tyler Millwood before Millwood took the spot for good, leaving Jenkins in third at the checkers. Michael Page followed in fourth with Ricky Williams racing his way into fifth to complete the top five.
In other action, Rucker Orr grabbed the lead at the drop of the green in the Limited Late Model feature and left the rest of the starting field to decide amongst themselves who would take the rest of the top five. Mark Bunch held the second spot until lap eighteen when he was over taken by Jake Herrell in the closing laps, and forced to settle for third. Completing the top five were Jason Smith and Michael Brewer.
The Crate Late Model Championship started off with a bang when the green flag fell. Third place starter Chuck Page attempted to make it three wide in turn one, causing pole sitter Cass Fowler to slide high into outside starter Mark Sims. The contact sent both spinning, with Fowler’s racer tagging the wall, ending his night before it started.
On the restart, Page took the lead closely followed by Craig Reece. Page would hold off all the challenges Reece could make to take the trophy. Marty Ward came home third holding off Jake Knowles and Rick Hixson completing what was thought to be the top five. Upon post race inspection, Reece was found illegal and was disqualified, moving everyone up a spot, and giving Hunter Jones the fifth spot.
The Super Bomber feature would see the closest race of the night, as Roy Patterson held off Andy Morris for 20 laps to win by a nose. Kenny Taylor followed in third. Zack Sheldon made his first appearance at Dixie to finish fourth while Mike Bruner came from the rear for fifth.
Cody Richards also won his first career win at Dixie Speedway as he took the lead from Gooch Spriggs in the Economy Bomber feature and never let it go. Shane Smith made his way from the back of the pack to grab second. Kyle Beavers crossed the line in third followed by Gooch, Spriggs, and Rob Johnson to close out the top five.
The Pony Stock feature would see J.J. Garrett win a three car race for the lead, as he held off Shannon Etheridge and William Etheridge at the checkered flag for his third win of the season. Jeremy Baines followed in fourth while Grady Stokes, who started dead last in the 25 car field, came home in fifth.
The team of Chris Neese and Jackie Thompson took the win in the Cruiser feature.
