Page Takes 43rd Anniversary Race At Dixie Speedway

Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA celebrated its 43rd Anniversary Saturday night as a packed house watched Douglasville, GA’s Michael Page become the first repeat winner of the 2012 season in the Super Late Model Division.

Tyler Millwood tried to make a race of it but had to settle in second followed by Wayne Echols, in his first appearance of the season, in third. Chip Brindle made another show in the top five finishing fourth ahead of last weeks winner Dale Thurman.

Mark Bunch got win number two in the Limited Late Model feature. Oliver Gentry held off Jake Herrell for second with Kenny Collins and Jason Smith rounding out the top five.

The Crate Late Model show would also have a repeat winner, as Craig Reece stayed in front of Alan Green at the checkers. Billy Coley held off rookie Hunter Jones for the fourth spot with Marty Lunsford trailing behind them in fifth.

Kirk Atkins also became a repeat winner in the Super Bomber feature win he took the checkers ahead of Timmy Millwood. Completing the top five was Andy Morris, Bobby Hill, and Daniel Brewer.

Justin Shipley got his first win of the season as he and Cody Richards raced each other for the lead with both drivers threading their way through heavy traffic. John Davis followed in third with earlier leader Gooch Spriggs holding on to fourth. Scott Sherrer completed the top five.

Shannon Etheridge was once again the car to beat as he took his third win of the season in the Pony Stock class. Jeremy Millsaps came through in second followed by Bo Jordan. Following in fourth and fifth was Grady Garrett and Matt McCollum.

James and Nicole Gagnon took the top spot in the Cruiser Division while Derrin Ray survived to take the Demo Derby win.
