Ander Vilarino won the Sprint portion of the Elite Division’s Brands Hatch 200 in Brands Hatch, England, to kick off the second race weekend of the NASCAR Euro Racecar season.

It is his third victory in three races. The Spanish driver finished ahead of runner-up Romain Thievin, and third-place Javier Villa.

After qualifying played on a wet-greasy track, the Elite Sprint ran under clear skies and a coating completely dry.

Pole sitter Thievin (# 99-Still Racing Exotics Racing) led the first 10 of 25 laps, before being overtaken by Vilarino (# 2 TFT-Banco Santander) in the McLaren turn, the last turn of the 1.929 km course.

Once in the lead, Vilarino built his lead and crossed the finish line .744 seconds over Thievin.

“I am pleased to win a third consecutive victory,” said Vilarino, who swept the Sprint and Endurance portions on the opening weekend at Nogaro. “The race start was difficult because Roman was faster. ”

After getting passed by Vilarano, Thievin had to watch his mirrors as Javier Villa (# 64 TFT) became increasingly threatening, especially at the end of trial.

“I made a good start but we still need to work on the set-up because after six laps, the car became very difficult to drive,” said Thieven. “Ander was very fast, Javier also, so I had a lot of pressure on the shoulders. I had no room for error.”
