There was great racing to be seen, even with just a handful of cars on the track. One incident happened when Harrison Burton, son of NASCAR star Jeff Burton, started second in the Lt. World Formula race. There was an accident on the first lap, leading many cars to pit.
When Burton’s car came in for his two courtesy laps to repair any damage before the race went back to green, his crew jumped into action lifting the car up, replacing a chain and getting him back out leaving him to re-start dead last.
When the field went back to racing, Harrison picked off every driver one by one, and by the time he got the checkered flag, he had almost a half-lap lead.
