Benjamin Scores Second SLM Win At New Smyrna

It was again the Kyle and Kyle show Tuesday night in Super Late Model action at New Smyrna Speedway in New Smyrna Beach, FL, as Kyle Benjamin beat out Kyle Larson for the SLM feature victory in night five of 46th annual World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing action at the famed half-mile speedway.

For Benjamin, it was his second win in a row at the track, not to mention his second career SLM victory.  Larson would finish second, with Ryan Moore third, Becca Kasten fourth and second generation racer John Hunter Nemechek fifth.

In other action, things got interesting post-race for the NASCAR Tour-Type Modifieds.  After being flagged the winner, Ted Christopher was disqualified post-race.

That handed the feature win to Chuck Hossfeld.  Patrick Emerlin ran second, followed by Daniel Hemric, Eric Goodale, and John Jenson.

Also competing in the feature were the SK Modfieds, with Dave Cramner.  Jimmy Zacahrias finished second, with Rob Shultz third and John Wilbur fourth.

Jerry Symons picked up the win in the Florida/IMCA Type Modified feature.  John Sappraicone, Jr. placed second, with Josh Todd, Tank Tucker, and Wayne Jefferson rounding out the top five.

In the Pro Late Model feature, Drew Brannon topped the field to score the victory.  Brandon Watson ran second.  Cody Coughlin finished third.  Brandon Johnson was fourth.  Dawsonville, GA racer Spencer Davis placed fifth.

The 46th annual World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing continues tonight (Wednesday), with action slated for the NASCAR Tour-Type Modifieds, the FL/IMCA Type Modifieds, Super Late Models, Pro Late Models, and SK Modifieds.
