Tommy Davis scored the win and the $500 pay day in the 20 lap Front Wheel Drive feature at Anderson Motor Speedway in Williamston, SC Friday night.
Davis and Wayne Cowart battled the first lap of the race, with Davis holding a narrow advantage at the end of the lap. Cowart took the lead on lap two and began to pull away from Davis soon thereafter. Davis closed the gap on Cowart several occasions, but each time he would soon drop off Cowart’s pace.
Then on lap 18, Davis closed on Cowart once again. This time Davis did not drop back, and made his move on the final lap of the race. As Cowart drove out of turn two Davis drove under him and took the lead down the back stretch. Once out front Davis held off Cowart to take the victory. Wayne Cowart finished second, with Chris Harvell third, Kenneth Bearden fourth, and Mike Staton fifth.
In other action, Mark Burdette picked up the win in the B-M Modified race. Alan Mitchell jumped to the front at the start of the race and led the first five laps before he lost the top spot to Burdette. Burdette held the lead until a caution came out a couple of laps later. Following the caution, Burdette and Jared Irvan battled for the lead, with the two making contact at the end of the lap, which sent Burdette around.
Irvan took the lead following the incident and held the top spot for a lap before he was passed by Casey Tucker. Soon after losing the lead, Irvan fell off the pace and took the car to the pits. Tucker held the lead for a lap before Lance Jones took the spot away from him. Jones held the point until lap 12, when Burdett finished his move from the rear and regained the top spot, which he held the remainder of the race. Burdette became the fourth different driver to win this year in the B-M Modified division. Austin Northcutt, Casey Tucker, Lance Jones, and Robert Marshall rounded out the top five.
Chad Campbell claimed the victory in the B Mini Stock race. Chad Campbell and Buster Thrasher swapped the lead several times before Thrasher had a problem with his car which removed him from the race. Once Thrasher was out, Campbell held off Matt Gilbert to take his third victory of the season. Jeff Turner finished third, with David Darnell fourth, and Dylan Hall fifth.
Dylan Hall topped the field to win the C Mini Stock feature. Ryan Howard grabbed the lead at the start of the race and had a good advantage when the caution came out on lap ten. On the restart Howard and Hall got together, with Howard getting the worse end of the deal, as he was eliminated from the race. Following the incident Hall grabbed the lead and led the final two laps and took his third win of the season. Jim Skinner finished second, followed by Brandon Segars, Ernie Willimson, and Dion Ciccarelli finished fifth.

Ricky Burnett came home with the win in the Renegade feature. Burnett and Robin Darnell battled side by side the first lap of the race, with Burnett holding about a one foot lead at the end of the lap. On lap two Darnell took the lead position away from Burnett. One lap later Burnett drove back by Darnell and regained the lead which he held the remainder of the race. The victory was the second in a row for Burnett. Robin Darnell finished second. Jack Robertson finished third. Blake Gregory finished fourth. Matt Anders finished fifth.
Barry Tollison Sr. scored the victory in the Super Renegade feature. Tollison Sr. led every lap of the race on his way to his second victory of the season. Barry Tollison Jr. finished second. Whitey Suttles held off Zachary Pressley for third. Zachary Pressley finished fourth. Suttles and Pressley battled repeatedly for the third position which was the only battle during the race.
Rex Brown took the win in the US Legends race. Corey Parham led the first five laps of the race before he relinquished the top spot to Brown. Once out front Brown pulled away from the field on his way to his first victory of the season. Riley Thornton, Corey Parham, Cy Strickland, and Bernard Wilson rounded out the top five.
Joseph Pilato claimed the victory in the Southern Pro Challenge race. Pilato led every lap of the race as he easily out distanced the remainder of the field. Joe Wilfer finished second. Zachary Ayers finished third.
Anderson Motor Speedway returns to action on Friday, April 20, on Bosch/March of Dimes Night, fearuing the Late Model Stocks, along with a regular racing program.
