Not to be forgotten at Gresham Motorsports Park during last Saturday’s night of racing was the local hometown heroes, who did their part in waiting out the rain and putting on a great show for the fans in the stands.
Tony Newman recorded the win in the 12 lap Renegade event, followed by Jody Trivette, Mike Childers, Jessie Thomas, Blake Gregory and Dicky Davenport.
One car that caught a lot of attention during the event was that of Brian Sosebee, who was listed as an “exhibition” entry.
In the mini-stock event, it was a battle of the Hicks family, as Vernon Hicks bested Spanky Hicks for the victory. They were followed to the line by Steve Hill, Bill George and Avery Burgess.
The largest local field of the night belonged to the truck division, with 17 starters. Brandon Jones powered his way to the victory, followed by Cody Haskins, Chris Wagner, Spencer Davis and Ashley Harvey.
In the Outlaw Late Model division, Matthew Wragg recorded the win, followed by Jason Bates, Hoyt Stephens, David Murphy and Terry Martin.
The local divisions will return to the track on July 16 during the PASS Late Model weekend.
