New Smyrna Speedway has seen its share of firsts early on in this young season. It saw another one Sunday night, as Kyle Benjamin scored his first career Super Late Model victory on the New Smyrna Beach, FL oval.
He had to hold off Kyle Larson, who scored his first and second career late model wins at New Smyrna in recent days. Jeff Scofield came home third, with Ryan Moore fourth and Becca Kasten rounding out the top five.
In other action, Tim Moore took the victory in the Florida/IMCA-Type Modified feature. He beat out Jerry Symons for the win. Tank Tucker finished third, with Travis Roland placing fourth and Josh Todd fifth.
Dakota Stroup scored the win in the Pro Late Model feature. Daniel Keene, Jr. came home second. Sean Bass was flagged in third place, but failed post race tech, handing the position to Travis Swaim. Brandon Watson finished fourth and Drew Brannon placed fifth.
