Rain Interrupts Friday Action At East Bay Raceway Park

Friday was shaping up to be another hot night of racing in the Winternationals at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, FL, until Mother Nature had other ideas, as rain washed out Friday night’s scheduled races.

Night number two of the UMP/EBRP Open Wheel Modifieds kicked off, as 46 cars representing 15 states attempted to qualify for the heat races. After retaking his track record last night and having motor problems in the A-Main, Kyle Bronson set quick time with a 16.812 for group one and setting fast time overall.

Group two went to Jeff Mathews with a time of 17.196. Group three went to Kenny Wallace with 16.995 and group four went to Vic Vena with a time of 16.868. Group five went to Bart Hartman with a 16.818 and group six went to Matt Harper with a 17.050.

Next up were three heat races for the TEAM USA Mod Lites with twenty cars qualifying. Heat race number one went to Doug Williams out of Central Square, NY. Heat race number two went to Brandon Dennis from Harrington, DE. The final heat race went to Landis Musser out of Laurel, DE.

After East Bay Raceway Officials looked at the radar, the night would come to a close. The rest of Friday’s events would be run on Saturday afternoon.

ASA Racing will continue on Saturday with the conclusion of Friday’s events and Saturday’s scheduled event for the UMP/EBRP Open Wheel Modifieds andthe Team USA Mod Lites.
