The American Speed Association Midwest Tour announced the addition of Berlin Raceway in Berlin, MI to the 2012 schedule this week. The event will be on Saturday, June.
“Our schedule has been forming up very nicely and we assumed we were all locked up until we received a phone call from the guys at Berlin Raceway,” said ASAMT VP, Steve Einhaus. “If there was one track that we would like to add to our schedule it would have been Berlin and it was really comforting to hear how excited they were to have the Touring Stars of the ASA Midwest Tour make an inaugural visit to the historic ARTGO track. We will always continue to keep this series Midwest based and when you can go into a new market, it benefits the notoriety of our drivers and greatly improves the footing for our corporate sponsors.
“A lot of history will be relived by adding I-44 and Berlin Raceway and we couldn’t be any more proud of what we have to offer our fans in 2012.”
Berlin Raceway was built as a humble dirt track in 1950 when Chester Mysliwiec and family started a racing tradition. Today Berlin Raceway is a 7/16 paved oval with 13-degree banking in the turns and 9-degree banking on the straightaways.
The elements of a healthy diet should include lean meats and proteins such as chicken breast meat, turkey, fish, and legumes. If your problem persists for more than three months, they may hold some serious health problems like hypertension, heart problems, depression etc. This ignorance is the beginning of a major evolution,” Zeihan says. Surely the excitement and temptation to get physically involved in an automobile accident suffers a whiplash injury to some degree! The term whiplash was first used in 1928 and continues to be used to describe a whole group of health conditions that are considered to pose some risk when taking Kamagra Polo, as this medication might affect them. The track has changed hands a few times over the years but in 2011 was purchased by DBD Ventures and will be promoted by Mike Bursley and Kurt Dietrich in 2012.
“We are very excited about adding the ASA Midwest Tour to the 2012 Berlin Raceway schedule,” said Kurt Dietrich, Operation manager of Berlin Raceway. “It is a strong, solid series that has deep roots in the Midwest and it only makes sense to merge our histories together. The way the series promotes the drivers and teams is a throwback to the old ASA / ARTGO days and it is one of those events we would really like to build into an annual event. There is a great mix of your drivers as well as seasoned veterans that run the ASA Midwest Tour so it is sure to be one of the bigger events at our speedway.”
The track has one of the strongest fan bases for grass roots racing in the nation. In 2001, several amenities were added and improved making it not only a premiere facility, but one of the most fan-friendly as well. Thousands of race fans have filled the seats at Berlin Raceway and the ASA Midwest Tour is looking forward to bringing premiere short track entertainment to the fans. Not only will the fans get to see the best of the best in the ASAMT, but the rules will allow the Berlin regulars to compete as well.
“We have been working very hard to get some of our rules more in line with the rest of the United States and we will be able to roll into Berlin with only one major change and that is the carburetor,” added ASAMT President, Tim Olson. “Their locals can come as they are on a weekly program, change the carb, and they are ready to go. We are confident that the competitors will like the package and they can come and race without changing things since our rules are almost identical. It will be very tough competition when you mix the locals against the Touring Stars of the ASAMT and the fans will see an awesome show.”
