Cass Fowler celebrated the holiday weekend with a $1,000 payday on Saturday night.

The Acworth, Georgia speedster held off challenges from Shane Payton and Mitchell Keaton to score the Summit Racing Equipment Late Model Sportsman feature win at West Georgia Speedway in Whitesburg, Georgia.

It’s the fourth win of the season for Fowler, who leads in the division points standings.

Payton finished in second, with Keaton in third, Justin Begley in fourth, and Dan Meadows in fifth.

Shane Duncan, Tate Nicholson, John Land, Michael Thomas, and Andrew Moody rounded out the top 10.

In other action, Blant Duke pocketed a special $1,500 payday with a win in the Sanders Logging Hobby Stock Southern Outlaws special event. Chris Steele ran down Duke in the late stages of the race, but could not muster anything to get past him. Tim Anderson finished in third, with Ben Steele in fourth, and Greg Thomas in fifth.

Noah Cornman became the seventh different feature winner in the Gerber Collision & Glass Chargers division. Cornman ran side-by-side for several laps with Cole Barrett for the lead. Barrett clipped the turn four retaining wall on lap five before spinning out a lap later due. Brennen Shirley applied pressure to Cornman over the final five laps, but Cornman would not be denied his first trip to victory lane. Shirley had to settle for second, with Garrett Williams in third, Brandy Brewer in fourth and Jeff Peardon in fifth.

Tony Newman ran three wide Doug McClain and Jason Young for several laps during the early stages of the Hot Shots feature. Newman was able to get the lead secured, and went on to score his first win of the year ahead of McClain in second and Young in third. Jonathan Nelson and Ernie Turner rounded out the top five.

Derrick Matthews and Marty Massey also claimed wins in the West Georgia Tire Bombers and Country Financial Crate Late Models besting unusually small fields of cars.
