Tucker Anderson waited patiently on Cole Barrett to make one small mistake and try to take advantage.
That opportunity came with just a few laps remaining in Saturday night’s Collision & Glass Chargers division feature at West Georgia Speedway in Whitesburg, Georgia.
When Barrett bobbled coming off the fourth turn of the 3/8-mile clay oval, Anderson shot psat him on the frontstreth. From there, the Toccoa, Georgia racer went on to record his first win at the raceway.
“I just had to wait and let him make a mistake,” said the 14-year-old Anderson afterwards.
Dean Delemar finished in third, with Michael Thomas in fourth and Richard Scott in fifth.
In other action, James Swanger remains undefeated in Hobby division competition this year, as he led flag-to-flag for the win on Saturday night. Michael Thomas followed in second, with Michael Couch in third, and Jason Floyd in fourth.
Austin Aldridge held off all challenges by Shane Payton and Matthew Knight to win his first Summit Racing Equipment Late Model Sportsman feature of the season. Tim Lenz finished in fourth, with Jimmy Ivester in fifth.
Derrick Matthews took the win in the West Georgia Tire Bombers feature, with William Blair in second, Chad Foster in third, Craig Boozer in fourth and Ricky Neil in fifth.
Ernie Turner was handed the Hot Shots feature win in post race tech after Rick Ricks came across the scales five pounds light. It was Turner’s first win at West Georgia Speedway. Jonathan Nelson was second ahead of Steve Clinton in third, Paul Heitsenrether in fourth and Lane Rose in fifth.
Marty Massey was the winner in the Crate Late Model feature. Craig Scott, Jake Traylor, Marty Lunsford and Roger Cassel rounded out the top five.
David Brackett topped the field in the Massey Towing Mini Stocks, with Michael Poss second, Jason Burke third, Tracy Hulsey fourth and Justin Brackett fifth.
