Bubba Pollard is picking up 2012 right where he left off in 2011.
Pollard turned the fastest lap to lead Saturday’s qualifying session at Lanier National Speedway in Braselton, GA for Sunday’s Ice Cold Shriners Bowl Pro Late Model feature at the famed 3/8 mile speedway.
Pollard put down a lap at 13.713 to top the 15 cars that took time on Saturday. The Senoia, GA native had been fast all day, turning in the fastest lap in the first practice session and fourth in the second session.
Pollard’s last PLM qualifying effort resulted in a pole as well, back in December at 5 Flags Speedway in Pensacola, FL.
Kyle Benjamin was second fastest on the speed charts with a 13.771. Mike Garvey turned in the third fastest lap with a 13.771. Dwayne Buggay was fourth with a 13.832. R.S. Senter was fifth fastest with a 13.848.

Russell Fleeman, Brandon Jones, Brandon Jones, Shane Sawyer, Anderson Bowen and Brady Boswell rounded out the top ten.
Buggay will start on the pole after the top four inverted on a die roll.
In other action, Kodie Conner jumped out front early and never looked back to take the win in Saturday’s Bandolero Bandits feature. Christopher Clanton won the Bandolero Bandit event. Payton Ryan scored the Legends Young Lion win. Garrett Smithley picked up the Legends Semi-Pro victory. Cody Haskins roared to the Legends Pro win and Phillip Young scored the Legends Masters win.
Action gets underway on Sunday with the drivers meeting at 12:30 pm, an autograph session at 1 pm and the start of feature events at 2 pm.
