Ricky Weiss Sweeps SAS At Smoky Mountain With Win

Ricky Weiss dominated Saturday’s Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series action at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee.

The Headingly Manitoba, Canada native scored hi second series race in the King of the Mountain Fall Classic, giving him a sweep of the SAS events at the track in 2019.

Weiss took home $7,500 for his efforts.

After starting on the pole, Weiss led every lap in the event en route to the win. He had a few challenges on restarts, as David Crabtree and Shannon Buckingham stayed close for a few laps. He also came under fire while working his way through the lapped traffic, but Weiss used patience and took his time. In the end, he crossed under the checkered flag first.

Defending race winner Buckingham finished in second, with Crabtree in third. Series points leader David Breazeale came home in fourth, with Eric Wells in fifth.

Dalton Cook, John Blankenship, Tommy Kerr, Vic Hill and Zach Leonhardi rounded out the top ten.

The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series will wrap up the 2019 race season on Saturday, October 12 at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama. For more details, visit SASDirt.com.
