Rain Wipes Out Racing Plans For Several Area Tracks

Wet weather again wreaked havoc on racing schedules at race tracks across the region, leading several speedways to cancel or postpone events over the weekend.

Georgia’s Lavonia Speedway was scheduled to play host to the World of Outlaws Late Model Series on Saturday, May 4, but saw that event washed out due to the rainy weather. The WoO LMS event has been rescheduled to Thursday, October 3, while regular racing returns to Lavonia on Friday, May 17. Check LavoniaSpeedway.net for more information.

Up the road in Hartwell, Georgia, late afternoon showers washed out the night’s slate of racing at Hartwell Speedway. Racing is set to return to Hartwell on Saturday, May 10. For more info, check Hartwell-Speedway.com.

Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia was set to host its 50th anniversary race on Saturday, but afternoon showers wiped out the chances for the event. Dixie will return to action on Saturday, May 18. Visit DixieSpeedway.com for further updates.
