Richard Johnson had to bounce back from a pair of near-spins during Saturday night’s Sharp Mini-Late Model feature, as Georgia’s Winder-Barrow Speedway played host to the tour.

After near disaster twice, the Ellabell, Georgia driver made the pass around Kenny Dobbs to take the lead and went on to score the victory at the ¼-mile clay raceway.

Johnson started from the pole for the feature, but it was Dobbs jumping to the lead on the start from the outside of the front row. Johnson slipped to third after contact with another car almost sent him spinning off of turn two. The start was nullified when an incident sent another car spinning in turn three before the first lap was complete.

With the original starting lineup reset, Dobbs again used the outside to take the lead, while Johnson fell back to battle with Jody Sparks for second. A trio of caution flags slowed the event over the next several laps.

Back under green, Dobbs held the lead with Sparks challenging when the two made contact off of turn two, sending both cars sliding. That allowed Johnson to power around the outside to take the lead. Over the next several laps, Johnson began gapping the field until a late caution slowed the pace and bunched the field up again.

On the restart, Johnson moved away, and would go unchallenged en route to the victory.

Dobbs finished in second, with Thomas Cooler in third, Ronnie Osmer in fourth and Bryan Funk in fifth.

In other action, John Anderson was the winner in the Limited Late Model feature, with Dustin Cason in second.

Chase Lampp won in the Hobby feature. Tyler Canup finished in second, followed by Jerome Hanson in third, Dakota Taylor in fourth and David Nash in fifth.

Ronnie Poole scored the victory in the Modified Street feature, with Chad Puckett second and Jordan Poole third.

Stephen House was the winner in the Stock V8, with Jeff Caster in second.

P.J. Taylor held off Justin Taylor for the Stock 4A feature win. Scotty Cox, Kyle Braswell and Glenn Jackson rounded out the top five.

Jason Fowler took the win in the Stock 4B feature, with John Martin in second, Daniel Conner in third, Brandon Cox in fourth and William Earnest in fifth.
