Jimmy Johnson opened up the 55th racing season at Georgia’s Winder-Barrow Speedway on Saturday night with a dominating performance in the Limited Late Model feature.

The Monroe, Georgia speedster started the night from the pole, and led wire-to-wire en route to the victory at the ¼-mile clay raceway.

Johnson brought the field down to the green flag with David McCoy alongside. After a brief battle in turns one and two, Johnson cleared McCoy down the backstretch to take the lead.

Behind the lead duo, Dustin Cason, John Anderson and Ken Lampp gave chase, but soon found themselves losing ground.

As the race went caution free, McCoy would keep Johnson within shouting distance. But over the closing laps, Johnson began to pull away, despite racing through lap traffic.

In the end, it was Johnson crossing under the checkered flag first, with McCoy settling for second.

Cason finished in third, followed by Anderson in fourth and Ken Lampp in fifth.

In other action, Wormy Gaddis held off Nick Sellers to take the Modified Street feature. Clayton Callaway finished in third, followed by Jimmy Lee Langley in fourth and Aaron Criswell in fifth.

Mark Chancey took the win in the Stock V8 feature, with Austin Roberts second and Jr. Carter third.

Rod Roberts scored the victory in the Hobby feature. Chase Lampp, Chris Woods, Nick Sellers and Andy Barton rounded out the top five.

Justin Taylor held off Kyle Braswell and P.J. Taylor for the Stock 4A win. Scott Cox finished fourth, followed by Brandon Franklin in fifth.

Jason Fowler was the winner in the Stock 4B feature, with Adam Jones second, Tyler Thompson third, B.J. Franklin fourth and Britani Page fifth.
