Kevin Shaw battled back to the lead of Saturday night’s Modified Street feature at Georgia’s Winder-Barrow Speedway, and went on to score the victory.
Shaw started the feature on the front row, alongside polesitter Stacy Duren. On the drop of the green flag, Shaw powered to the lead on the outside in turn one, but lost the spot when Duren drove back around him racing off turn two.
One lap later, Duren slipped in turn two, allowing Shaw to move back to the point.
After a caution for debris, Shaw drove back to the lead on the restart, with Duren and Aaron Criswell in pursuit.
Shaw worked hard to hold off challenges from Duren during the middle portion of the feature, but as the laps wound down, Shaw moved away to build an advantage.
In the end, it was Shaw first across the finish line for the win, with Duren in second, Jordan Poole in third, Criswell in fourth and Neal Cox in fifth.
In other action, Zack Sanders held off Kyle Braswell for the Stock 4A feature victory. Cody Albright, Roger Cothran and Scotty Cox rounded out the top five.
Trip Sexton was the winner in the Stock V8 feature, with Jeff Casper in second.
Mother Nature won out in the remaining features, as rain moved in over the Winder, Georgia area.
Winder-Barrow Speedway is set to return to action on Saturday, August 18, as the raceway plays host to the Lucas Oil Southern States Midget Series.
