Richard Johnson took the lead early, and went on to Victory Lane on Saturday night, as Georgia’s Winder-Barrow Speedway played host to the Sharp Mini-Late Models.

The win in the Tri-State Series event was worth $800 for the Ellabell, Georgia driver.

Jody Sparks took the lead on the drop of the green flag, with Thomas Cooler, Jr. and Johnson in pursuit.

Johnson had moved to second by the end of lap one, and began working to track down the leader. Using the low line, Johnson powered past Sparks in turn 1 on the next lap, and moved out to the advantage.

The race was slowed by caution for the first time a few laps later for a multi-car tangle in turn two. The ensuing restart would see the second caution for a spin by Kash Wilson in turn one. On the following restart attempt, caution would fly again before the lap ended.

The race finally got back underway, with Johnson moving out to a strong lead ahead of Sparks, while the filed battled behind them. The final caution flew just after the halfway point for a two-car tangle on the frontstetch.

Back under green, Johnson again moved out to a sizeable advantage, and would race unchallenged to the victory.

Cooler, Jr. finished in second, with Sparks in third, Brad Amerson in fourth and Rene Chamser in fifth.

In other action, Dustin Cason held off Josh Hardigree to score the Limited Late Model victory. Ken Lampp finished in third, with Chris Woods in fourth and Chad Puckett in fifth.

Chase Lampp took the win in the Hobby feature. Austin Brumbelow came home in second, with Andy Barton in third, Chris Jones in fourth and Jerome Hanson in fifth.

Wormy Gaddis scored the victory in the Modified Street feature, with Jordan Poole in second and Aaron Criswell in third.

Mark Chancey held off Stephen House for the Stock V8 feature win. Jeff Casper finished third, with Trip Sexton in fourth.

Cody Albright was the winner in the Stock 4A feature, with James Robinson, Elliott Brayboy, Scotty Cox and Kyle Braswell rounding out the top five.

Adam Jones took the victory in the Stock 4B feature. Brandon Cox finished in second, followed by Brandon Franklin in third, Sampson Rice in fourth and Robert Booth in fifth.

Winder-Barrow Speedway is slated to return to action on Saturday, August 4. For more information, visit WinderBarrowSpeedway.net.
