Blake Jones has re-written several record books for being the youngest driver to win different races and championships.
This weekend, the 14-year-old from Sevierville, Tenn., will break his biggest record yet. After Saturday’s American 200 at Rockingham Speedway, Jones will be crowned as the youngest Rookie of the Year ever in the CARS Pro Cup Series.
“The way we have worked the points out (Jones is 95 points ahead of fellow rookie Cale Conley), if we can take the green flag on Saturday, we’ll win the rookie championship,” Jones said. “It’s a great situation to be in.”
Jones, who drives for Kirk May Racing, will join a list of Rookie of the Year winners that includes NASCAR star Brian Vickers and CARS Pro Cup legend Jeff Agnew.
