Anthony Alfredo pocketed $3000 after he inherited the Southeast Limited Late Model Series Pro Division win at Greenville-Pickens Speedway Saturday night
Alfredo picked up the win after Dylan Hall, who was flagged the winner, was disqualified in post-race tech inspection for an illegal carburetor base plate.
Colby Howard also went to victory lane for the second straight week, leading all 40-laps of the Daytona1 Challenger division feature and winning his first ever race in the series.
In the Pro division, Hall and Howard started in the front row, with Hall grabbing the early lead. Ryan Walker quickly moved to second, shuffling Howard to third. Luke Sorrow brought out the first caution of the night when his car got out of shape after a tap from behind.
Back under green, Alfredo began to mount a charge. Alfredo moved his way to second and took the lead from Hall on lap 18. Walker followed, moving Hall back to third.
The second and final caution of the race flew on lap 27 when Andrew Cordell dropped fluid on the track and spun into the third turn wall, collecting Thad Moffitt in the process.
Alfredo set a strong pace for over 60 laps, keeping Walker at bay behind him. Hall, meanwhile, remained patient back in third, saving his car for a run to the finish. On lap 84, Hall dove underneath Walker to take second and began working to close on Alfredo.
Hall chased Alfredo down and made the pass. He would be flagged the winner, only to see it go away in post-race tech, with Alfredo getting the victory.
Walker finished in second, with Howard in third, Jasper, Georgia’s Emilee Riley in fourth and Blair Addis in fifth.
Mitchell Mote, Luke Sorrow, Travis Byrd, Ron Hall and Omar Jurado rounded out the top ten.
Howard grabbed the early lead in the Daytona1 Challenger division’s 40-lap feature event from his front row starting position and never relinquished it en route to his second win in two weeks at Greenville-Pickens and his first ever win in the Southeast Limited Late Model Series.
Howard, 14, of Simpsonville, South Carolina won the event virtually unchallenged.
Bob Root ran second for most of the event Anthony Miller got by him with just a few laps left. Root held on for third. Andrew Cordell finished in fourth, with Adam Satterfield in fifth
Two yellow flags slowed Howard’s pace momentarily. The first took place on lap 28 when Thad Moffitt spun in turn two. The second yellow waved on lap 30 when Amber Lynn and Shon Gibson crashed coming out of turn four, ending their race early with damage to both cars.
In other action, Anthony Anders continued his domination of the Southeast Super Truck Series season with a comfortable victory over Randy Porter. Kyle Benjamin came home in third, with Jamie Altop in fourth and Mart Nesbitt in fifth.
T.J. Lollis won the Southeast Super Stock 20-lap feature event, while Greg Porter gave won in the Carolina Vintage Racers main.
C.J. Lavair took the lead on lap 11 of the 4-Cylinder feature and crossed the finish line first, but was later disqualified in post-race tech, handing the victory to Tommy Davis, Jr. Chad Redding, Dannon Esco, Chad Tavernia and Don Tavernia rounded out the top five.
Greenville-Pickens Speedway returns to action on Saturday, April 30, with action from the Late Model, Super Stock, Renegade, Pure Stock and Four Cylinder divisions.
