Ryan Millington edged out Dexter Canipe, Jr. to score the season opening NASCAR Whelen All American Series Bojangles Late Model feature win at the historic Hickory Motor Speedway Saturday night in Newton, NC.
Millington charged forward from the eighth starting spot, then went on to pick up the victory over Canipe, Jr. Fast qualifier Josh Berry finished in third, with Charlie Watson in fourth and Casey Pierce in fifth.
Travis Byrd, Brandon Grosso, Shane Lee, Dylon Wilson and Andrew Garcia rounded out the top five.
In other action, Charlie Watson picked up the Limited Late Model feature win. Mark Johnson finished in second, with Evan Swilling in third, Baron Kuritzky in fourth and Dylan Oliver in fifth.
Kevin Townsend took the win in the Street Stocks feature, with Cody DeMarmels in second, Kevin Evy in third, Trey Buff in fourth and Marshall Sutton in fifth.
Sheflon Clay was the winner in the Super Trucks feature. Tyler Dayton finished second, followed by Dillon Faggart in third, Kerry Lawrence in fourth and Jason Smith in fifth.
Hickory Motor Speedway returns to action on Saturday, March 12, with racing from the Bojangles Late Models, Limited Late Models, Street Stocks, e 4 Cylinders and Classic Sportsman Racing Series.
