John Owenbey led flag-to-flag to score the win in the season opener for the Ultimate Super Late Model Series Saturday night at North Georgia Speedway in Chastworth, GA.
With 35 drivers signed in to compete, the Cleveland, Tennessee speedster took the early lead ahead of the other 23 competitors to qualify for the feature. Owenbey led all 40 laps, bringing home the victory over second place Jason Hiett
Donald McIntosh finished in third. The Dawsonville, Georgia driver set fast time in qualifying with a lap at 13.733 seconds.
Toccoa, Georgia’s Casey Roberts finished in fourth, with David Payne in fifth.
Riley Hickman, Ray Cook, Jason Welsham, T.J. Reaid and Skip Arp rounded out the top ten.
The Ultimate Super Late Model Series next travels to County Line Raceway in Elm City, North Carolina on Saturday March 19 for a $4,000 to win feature.
