Joe Armistead, Jr. shot out to the early lead in the Super Late Model feature Saturday night at Senoia Raceway in Senoia, GA, and went on to score the victory.

Armistead, Jr. led early, with Ashton Winger moving into the second place position. The two darted around lapped traffic until lap 15 when Winger went high in turn four to pass a lapped car and hit the outside concrete wall coming to rest at the entrance to turn one.

Armistead never looked back after the restart posting his fifth win of the season ahead of Clint Smith in second, Ricky Williams in third, Bo Shirley in fourth and Matt Dooley in fifth.

After Austin Horton developed mechanical problems in the first feature for the Limited Late Models, Clint Smith inherited the lead and cruised to the victory. His nearest competitor, Joey Armistead, could not muster the speed to pass the veteran driver and had to settle for second ahead of Brand Lewis in third, Glenn Morris in fourth and Dustin Elliott in fifth.

The tables were turned in the second feature for the Limited Late Models. Armistead led with Smith left to chase him. The youngster out-dueled the veteran to win his fifth feature of the season. Thomas Lewis finished in third with Shane Criswell fourth and Dusty Jones in fifth.

The first feature for the Legends Cars was also a qualifying event for the series national championship race later this fall. Bubba Harry and Zach Leonhardi battled for the lead almost the entire distance, with Leonahrdi getting the upper hand on lap 13. As the white flag came out, Harry pulled alongside Leonhardi, with Will Martin making it three wide. Harry and Leonhardi locked wheels sliding towards the inside wall forcing Martin to slow down. Christopher Clanton hopped on the opportunity, shooting past and into the lead while the leaders spun. The caution never needed to come out as Clanton sped to the finish line ahead of Martin. Dwight Pilgram was third with 72-year-old Dennis Aiken fourth and Bailey Woodall fifth.

Harry was not going to let the lead go in the second feature, as the former national Legends cars champion led the entire race. The race behind him was one of the most exciting of the night as drivers raced a few times four wide while jostling for position. Joshua Hicks finshed in second, followed by Martin in third, Woodall in fourth and Clanton in fifth.

Todd Brewster worked J.J. Garrett for the first fourteen laps of the Kajun Mini Stock Association main event. Brewster made his way past with a quick move to the inside and then went on to win the inaugural appearance of the modified four cylinder racing series at Senoia Raceway. David Hallbrooks ended up in second ahead of Kevin Tullis. Micah Gavin finished in fourth with Michael Courtney in fifth.

Michael Page held off all challenges from Montana Dudley to win the Crate Late Model feature. Page and Dudley stayed close to each other the entire race with Matt Black not far off the pace. Neither Dudley nor Black had enough to gain the ground and take over the lead from Page. It was Page’s second win at Senoia Raceway this year, but the first in his crate engine powered race car. Bobby Mills and Curtis Cline rounded out the top five.

Ben Wells dominated the caution-filled Hobby Stock feature. Wells held off a late charge by Scott Sherrer to win his second of the year. Chris Steele finished in third, with Sam Carter and Daniel Floyd rounding out the top five.

Blant Duke was never seriously challenged in the B Cadet race as he posted the victory over Marc Gooden. Jake Traylor gained the most positions finishing in third, with Dylan Holmes notching a fourth place finish in his first visit to speedway. Division points leader Parrish Duncan finished in fifth.

The Chevrolet Performance 525 Series is scheduled to visit Senoia Raceway on Saturday, July 18. For more information, visit SenoiaRaceway.com.
