Trey Gibson led from the start of Saturday night’s Late Model Stock feature at Greenville-Pickens Speedway in Easley, SC and drove away to score his sixth division victory of 2015.
While Gibson held the top spot, Bryan Walker, David Roberts and Dylan Hall battled for position behind.
While Walker held the second spot, Roberts and Hall battled side-by-side, lap after lap, for third. Roberts eventually took the position, with Hall in fourth. Marietta, GA’s Kyle Plott took home fifth.
Kason Plott, Andrew Cordell, Dale Dove, Tasha Kummer and Rodney Howard rounded out the top ten.
In other action, Jack Hooper won the 4 Cylinder Front Wheel Drive make up race, with Travis Shelton in second, Robert Hall in third, Don Tavernia in fourth and Michael Cross in fifth.
The regular feature event for the division saw several caution flags, including one at the start that saw Hooper’s car wrecked. Michael Cross scored the win, with Don Tavernia second, Chad Tavernia third, Manuel Molleda fourth and Karl Hilderbrandt fifth.
Jason McGrew took the win in the Pure-Street Stock main, with Jimbo Mann in second and Freddy Hale, Jr., in third. Hank Hutto was fourth, followed by. Ashley Granata in fifth.
Brad Burns topped the Renegade filed for the feature win, coming from near the rear of the pack to take third place in just one lap. With wrecks and dropouts taking their toll, Burns soon made his way to the lead. With Burns on the point, Shane Hill and Blake Gregory battled lap after lap for second, with Hill eventually taking the spot. Bobby Emory finished in fourth, with Parker Jameson in fifth.
In the Super Renegade feature, track officials allowed Nick Thunder to compete, although his vehicle raced at GPS with the second division of the Southeastern Super Trucks. Everyone knew the cars are very different, but with a much smaller carb, Thunder was asked to race and see what the level of competition would be.
Josh Sams was the winner in the Super Renegade feature, with Dale Stancil, Andy Norris, Dale Gilbert and Chris Meinders rounding out the top five.
