Jason Russell Wins In Limited Late Models At East Bay

TAMPA, FL – Jason Russell powered his way to the to of the leaderboard in Saturday night’s Limited Late Model feature at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, FL, and went on to record his second career feature win in the division.

Russell’s last win came back in 2012.

Russell was able to hold off hard charges from Forrest Gough and Waylon Haynes to score the victory. Dale Pope finished in fourth, with Henry Burnside in fifth.

In other action, Jeremy Simpson picked up his first win in the V8 Warriors division. Jimmy Baker who rolled over earlier in the feature drove back to a second place finish with David Riner third, Steve Voisinet in fourth and Tim Stoffel in fifth.

In the 15-lap Gagel’s Open Wheel Modified feature, Austin Sanders picked up the win after passing Travis Varnadore on lap nine. Varnadore finished second and Buzzie Reutimann third, Bryan Bernhardt in fourth and Matt Miller in fifth.

Mother Nature cancelled the Q Auto & Injury Attorneys Street Stocks just 3 laps into the feature and they will pick up where they left off on August 16. The Motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers will run double features this week.
