Reed Sorenson has been announced as the new driver for Tommy Baldwin Racing on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series circuit.
Sorenson, of Peachtree City, GA, will join newly hired crew chief Todd Parrott on the No. 36 Chevrolet. He was chosen to take the wheel by Parrott and team owner Tommy Baldwin.
Sorenson said he is excited to be back behind the wheel of a full time Sprint Cup Series entry.

“It’s cool to have Reed on board driving the No. 36. I’ve looked at his statistics and was really surprised at how well he’s done,” Baldwin said. “It’s taken six years to get where we are now and the No. 36 car is only two or three years into it so, we’re slowly building that and we’re excited to have Reed on board with his experience at such a young age and ability to provide sound feedback to help us do that.”
Sorenson began his racing career at six years of age in Quarter Midgets, then moved up to Legends cars. Sorenson would move his way up to ARCA and the NASCAR Nationwide Series, then would move to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, driving for Chip Ganassi Racing and Richard Petty Motorsports. He has seen the last three years racing mainly in the NASCAR Nationwide Series.
