Sterling Marlin Scores Pro Late Model Win At Nashville

Action returned to the high banks of Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville in Nashville, TN, as Sterling Marlin streaked to his second Pro Late Model victory of 2013 Saturday night in the Music City.

Marlin, a two-time Daytona 500 champ, beat out another second generation racer, Clay Alexander, to score the win on the historic 5/8 mile speedway.

Austin Brawley crossed the finish line in fourth, with Tyler Miles in fourth, and Davey Coble in in fifth.

In other action, Allen Carter came away with the Limited Late Model victory. Steadman Marlin was second, followed by Jamie Hoskins, Jeffrey Belt, and Blake Williams.

Brandon Curren topped the field in the Open Wheel Modified feature. Jeff Letson finished second, with Tim Lawson in third, Parker Pugh in fourth, and Andy Brittain in fifth.

In Pure Stock action, Ronald Jackson scored the win, with Terry Jackson in second. William Coats came across in third, with Joseph Williams in fourth, and Matthew Adams in fifth.

Thomas Pannell was the winner in the Sportsman feature. Daniel Bradford, Johnny Cox, Howard Tucker, and Jeffrey Belt rounded out the top five.

Bobby Joe Rippey picked up the Super Street feature win, with Johnathan Dishman in second, Jeremy Newman in third, Matt Barnes in fourth, and Brew Fox in fifth.

Aaron Ashcraft scored the win in the Front Runner feature. Matt Barnes came home in second, with Jeffrey Taylor in third, Jason Taylor in fourth, and Mason Rochelle in fifth.

Chad Davis came away with the Legends feature win. Ross Rollings finished in second, with Josh Mullins in third, Wayne Grubb in fourth, and Tyler Cordell in fifth.

Action returns to the Nashville high banks on Saturday, June 1, with the return of Marty Robbins’ legendary No. 777 Plymouth Belvedere to the track it originally competed at in the late 1960s, along with action from the Pro Late Models, Limited Late Models, Sportsman, Open Wheel Modified, and quarter mile action.
