Persistent rain showers forced NHRA officials to cancel qualifying on Friday for the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals at Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, GA.
Eight Pro Stock cars were able to get down the track before consistent showers returned to the track located northeast of Atlanta. Rickie Jones in his 2013 Camaro led those drivers who made qualifying runs with a time of 6.596 seconds at 210.11 mph.
Qualifying resumes on Saturday with two qualifying sessions scheduled for 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm. Eliminations will take place on Sunday at 11 am.
