Mickey Trosclair of Luling, LA has let the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Nation know that he is out to get what he just missed last season.  Trosclair drove the J. Dunning Sandblasting and Paint Special to victory on Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA in Week 1 competition.

Trosclair tied in points last season with the 2012 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Champion Chase Washington of Houlka, MS.  Washington took the $10,000 title by winning the tiebreaker of more 50-point wins than Trosclair.

The tie at the top of the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series point standings remains, however, as Michael Arnold of Hattiesburg, MS shares the top spot with Trosclair after he drove the Reynolds Motorsports/Billy Riels Racing GRT to victory on Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS.

Second through fifth respectively on Friday night in NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Late Model action at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park were Trosclair, Shannon Lee of Hattiesburg, MS in the Billy Riels Racing Trak-Star, Robert Casada of Hattiesburg, MS and three-time series champion Lucky Keeton of Toomsuba, MS.

While Trosclair posted a 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Week 1 win, Keeton is back on the prowl this season looking for his fourth championship and finished second to Trosclair in the Late Model feature race on Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway.  Lee took his second straight third-place finish on Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway, and he was followed in the Top 5 by Noah Daspit of Kiln, MS and Derrick Mackmer of Purvis, MS.

Drivers are credited with their best point night of the week, so Arnold and Trosclair are tied for the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series point lead with 50 points.  Keeton is third with 49 points, and Lee is fourth with 48 points.  Casada and Daspit are tied for the fifth spot with 47 points apiece.

Mackmer is seventh in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series points chase with 46 points, while Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS and Christopher Reid of Wiggins, MS are tied for the eighth spot with 45 points.  Zach Cameron of Hattiesburg, MS rounds out the Top 10 with 44 points.

The NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division also kicked off its 2013 season on Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway with Roger Flynn taking the victory over Jarrod Fremin, Chad Hierarchy, Eddie Willis, and Donnie Ellis.  The Saturday night NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division event at Moulton Speedway in Moulton, AL was rained out.

NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Saturday night events at Clayhill Motorsports in Atwood, TN, and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL were rained out.
