David Roberts picked up the win in the Late Model race ran at the Anderson Motor Speedway in Anderson, SC Friday night, becoming the fourth different Late Model winner at the speedway this season.
David Roberts was the second fastest qualifier for the feature, behind pole sitter R.A. Brown, who set the fast time of the night with a lap of 15.332 seconds.
The dice was tossed and the number two was rolled. Thus the top two positions were inverted and this placed Roberts on the pole for the main event.
For the first five laps of the race Roberts and Brown battled side by side with Roberts holding a narrow advantage at the end of lap five. On lap six Roberts finally nailed down the lead position. But the battle was not over. On lap eight Randy Porter, running third, got crossed up and this slowed the group with him and allowed the top two to break away.
On lap fifteen Brown battled beside Roberts and took the lead by a nose at the line. The two battled side by side until lap eighteen before Roberts nailed down the lead once again. Although Brown ran with Roberts the remainder of the race he failed to make another bid for the top spot.
Roberts held the lead the remainder of the race and took his first victory of the season and became the fourth different winner thus far. R.A. Brown finished second. Marty Ward finished third. Justin Sorrow finished fourth. Anthony Anders finished fifth.
Phillip Peters claimed the victory in the Super Renegade feture. Barry Tollison Jr. led the majority of the race but failed to lead the most important lap. Tollison Jr. grabbed the lead at the start of the race with Barry Sr. moving into the second position.
Peters started in the rear of the eight car field even though he won the heat race. Peters worked his way to third and went after Barry Sr. on lap eight and the two made contact. Tollison Sr. spun and Peters moved to the second position and Whitey Suttles moved to the third position. On the restart Peters grabbed the lead and held it until lap eleven when Suttles was tagged by Eddie Henderson and Suttles spun.
On the restart Tollison Jr. got a great jump and reclaimed the lead. But Peters would not be denied his first victory of the season. He cut the deficit the final few laps and made his move on the final lap and passed Tollison Jr. in turn four and received the checkered flag. Barry Tollison Jr. finished second. Barry Tollison Sr. finished third. Gene Burnett finished fourth. Andrew Cordell finished fifth.
Chad Campbell went to victory lane in B-Mini Stock race. David Darnell led the first half of the race with Campbell struggling to maintain pace with him until lap ten. Following a caution the two battled for the next lap with Campbell taking the lead at the end of the lap. Ben Kay moved to second on lap thirteen and the bug bite Kay the following lap when a caution dropped.

On the restart Kay jumped the start and had to go to the rear. This left Darnell on the front with Campbell. The two battled for a half a lap before Campbell nailed down the lead once again. This time Campbell pulled away and went on to pick up his third victory in a row and his fifth of the season. David Darnell finished second. Chuck Mitchell finished third. Matt Meyers finished fourth. Rip Lockwood finished fifth.
Ricky Burnett picked up the win in the Talking Phonebook Renegade race. Chad Watt led the first five laps before he relinquished the top spot to Burnett. Burnett won the heat race but he had to start in the rear in the main event. It took Burnett five laps to get to the front but once he grabbed the lead he pulled away from the field. Chad Watt finished second. Matt Anders finished third. Blake Gregory finished fourth. Tracy Robertson finished fifth.
Austin Northcutt went to victory lane in the B-M Modified race. The win was the first of the season for Northcutt as he becomes the sixth different winner in the division. Tim Stokes and Casey Tucker started on the front row after winning their respective heat races. But they jumped the start and had to go to the rear.
This placed Benny Gillespie and Will Ragsdale on the front row. Gillespie grabbed the lead at the start of the race but his time at the front was short lived. On lap two Ragsdale battled past Gillespie to take the lead. But Ragsdale’s luck ran out on lap three when his car stalled down the backstretch.
Austin Northcutt blew past Ragsdale and took over the lead while Ragsdale coasted to the pits. Alan Mitchell pressed Northcutt the remainder of the race but failed to make it past him. Alan Mitchell finished second. Tim Stokes finished third. Scott Hamby finished fourth. Robert Marshall finished fifth.
Wayne Cowart claimed the win in the Front Wheel Drive race. Cowart led every lap of the race as he picked up his second victory of the season. Michael Staton, Tommy Davis, and Chris Lawson pressed Cowart early but as the three began to battle each other Cowart was able to pull away. On the final lap of the race Staton put the bumper to Cowart trying to get him to slip up but Cowart held his car straight and went on to take the checkered flag. Michael Staton finished second. Kenny Nix finished third. Tommy Davis finished fourth. Chris Lawson finished fifth.
Rex Brown claimed took the checkered flag first in the 600 Legends race. Cory Parham grabbed the lead at the start of the race while Taylor Griffith settled into second and Brown into third. Brown moved past Griffith on lap five and began to close on Parham. Brown made an initial attempt at the lead on lap seven and again on lap eight but Parham held him at bay. Brown made his third attempt on lap eleven and completed the pass at the end of the lap. Once out front Brown pulled away for the victory. Taylor Griffith finished second. Joey Padgett finished third. Cory Parham finished fourth. Tim Holt finished fifth.
