With 20 laps to go Saturday night, it looked like Korey Ruble had the Alabama Pro 200 at South Alabama Speedway in Opp, AL well in hand.  But as the laps wound down, it became clear that Brandon Odom had other ideas.

With nine laps to go, Odom made the pass on Ruble, and went on to score the Pro Late Model victory.

Justin South led the field to the green at the start of the event, with Logan Boyett on the outside.  Boyett would take the early lead, while Ruble and Augie Grill moved through the field.

Ruble would move to the lead on lap six, while Boyett, Bubba Pollard, Grill and Odom did battle behind.

Grill would surge to the lead just after the 30 lap mark, with Ruble in hot pursuit.

As the race approached the halfway mark, Grill and Ruble put on a big show for the fans as they fought for the top spot.  Ruble would finally take the lead on lap 83, with Grill giving chase.

When the competition caution flew at lap 100, the leaders hit pit road, while Pollard made the call to stay out and assume the lead.

Ruble would regain the lead just three laps into the second half of the race, but it was Grill putting his car back on top on lap 105.  He would stay there for many laps, while Ruble, Chase Elliott, Odom, Pollard and Dwayne Buggay slugged it out behind.

Grill would hold a comfortable lead until lap 157, when several cars, including Elliott, Boyette and Buggay, among others, were caught up in a melee in turn three.  Under caution, Grill took the opportunity to make a pit stop, handing the lead to Odom.  But it was Ruble who got the jump on the restart, and moved out front to lead the pack.

Ruble would hold the spot until the closing laps, when Odom closed and made the move for the victory.

Ruble finished second, with Grill third, Pollard fourth, and R.S. Senter in fifth.
