United Sprint Car Series points leader Tim Crawley took advantage of misfortune ahead of him to sweep to the victory at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS Saturday night.

The door to victory lane opened for Crawley on lap 19, when early leader Terry Gray tangled with pole winner Derek Hagar.  Gray’s evening was over, while Hagar was sent to the rear of the field for the restart.

Crawley assumed the point with 11 laps left in the 30 lap feature, and raced the final distance against, 17year-old Eric Riggins, Jr., who dogged Crawley until the final corner.  Riggins would have to settle for the runner-up spot.

Marshall Skinner charged from his 15th starting position all of the way to third place to accept the K&N Filters Podium Award. Anthony Nicholson, who won the evening’s Engler Machine and Tool First Heat, followed in fourth place. Hagar rallied back to fifth place at the end.
