Kyle Bronson topped the field in the Gagel’s Open Wheel Modified feature Saturday night at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, FL as he scored the victory.
Defending champion Austin Sanders and Alex Boerner started the night by winning their heat races. Bruce Harvey and Boerner made up the front row for the feature. Harvey took the early lead, but on lap five, Sanders took over the top spot with Boerner in second. Caution came out on lap nine as Thomas Pratt spun in turn four.
After starting nineteenth, Bronson had made his way up to second by lap 11. On the very next lap, Bronson was the leader passing Sanders on the backstretch. The caution came out with just two laps to go as John Inman and Harvey tangled on the backstretch. When the checkered waved it was Bronson in victory lane. A great battle for second over the last two laps was between Bill Howard and Alex Boerner ended as Boerner crossed the line second and Howard third. Tim Gay and Sanders rounded out the top five.
In other action the first feature of the night went to the V8 Warriors as they made their second appearance of the year. Don Jones and Jeff Weaver won their heat races. For the feature it was Weaver and Jones making up the front row. When the green flag waved, Weaver moved out front. On lap four, Weaver and Jones tangled on the front stretch, bringing out the caution and handing the lead over to points leader Tim Miller. When the checkered waved it was Miller picking up his second feature win with Derek Gray, Kenny Thornton, Henry Wiley and Jones rounding out the top five.

The final caution came out with just two laps to go as Brandon Yates, Jesse Brown and Nick Hebrank all tangled in turn four. When the green flag waved, Hammond never looked back as she picked up her fourth feature win of the year. Hohlbaugh, Brittany Yates, Kyle Worden and J.R. Baker rounded out the top five.
Next were the Street Stocks. Points leader Eric Moon and Dennis Wilson, Jr. both won their heat races. For the feature it was Dorsey Strickland and Moon starting on the front row. Moon quickly moved out in front with Strickland right on his back bumper. The first caution came out as Billy Carlbert, Jr. spun in turn two. On the restart, Moon once again showed the way. By lap seven, Strickland was putting heavy pressure on Moon lap after lap. Moon never looked back and picked up his fifth feature win of the year. Crossing the line second was Strickland but after inspection, Strickland was dq’d for illegal trailing arms. Donnie Reed finished second with Buck Woodhouse, Aaron Jones and Roy Woodhouse rounding out the top five.
The last feature of the night went to the Motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers. John Moore, Brett Calonge and Troy Dittebrand won their heat races. Patrick Fiore, Sr. and Troy Dittebrand made up the front row for the feature. Fiore, Sr. led the field into turn one, but on lap two the caution came out as Calonge slowed on the front stretch. Several more cautions came out. On the final green flag, John Moore took over the top spot on lap seven and never looked back. Fiore, Sr. crossed the line second, but he was dq’d for an Altered Front Spring moving Dittebrand to second, George Handy third , Dalton Goldhammer fourth and Don R. Quinn fifth.
