Phillip Cobb topped the field Saturday night to pick up his fourth Late Model feature at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, FL.
Wallace Peacock and Cobb won their heat races. Kyle Musselman and Josh Peacock started the feature event on the front row. Peacock took the early lead with the field chasing him. The first caution came out when Dave Schmauss cut a left rear tire. Peacock, Mavrick Varnadore and Musselman made up the top three. Several more cautions came out with Jim Cryer spinning in turns one and four sending him to the pits.
The green flag waved once again and at the halfway point, Cobb had taken over the top spot from Peacock. With five laps to go, Crouse slowed on the front stretch with a flat tire. That made it a five lap dash to the finish. Cobb went on to win his fourth feature of the season with Josh Peacock second, Schmauss coming back to take third. Wallace Peacock and Mavrick Varnadore rounded out the top five.
In other action, the first event of the night belonged to the Street Stocks. Point’s leader Eric Moon and Tim Powers won their heat races. For the start of the feature event it was Thomas Burnside and Donnie Reed on the front row. At the drop of the green flag, Burnside quickly jumped out in the top spot. On the very next lap, Powers powered his way past Burnside to take over the lead. The first caution came out when Matthew Grissom stopped on the front stretch.
After a second caution came out, Powers led the field into turn one after the green flag waved, with Dorsey Strickland right on his back bumper. When the final green waved on lap eleven, Powers never looked back and picked up his third Street Stock Feature after winning the Street Stock Nationals in February here at East Bay. Moon was second with Scotty Kay, Jr., Donnie Reed and Buck Woodhouse rounding out the top five.

Next up were the Old Time Mods. Richard Svenson and Roger Herbach won their heat races. Charlie “Fireball” Mixon and Tom McDonald started on the front row for the feature. Mixon led the first lap, but then on the very next lap, Svenson took over the top spot with Bob Fink chasing him down. Fink crossed the line first with Herbach, Pete Silva, Dan Darnell and Rich Iversen rounding out the top five.
Limited Late Models were next with Shane Koperda winning the heat race. Tim Gay and Jason Pope made up the front row for the feature. Gay took the early lead and never looked back. The first caution came out when Koperda spun in turn one bringing out the first caution. Several more cautions came out, but it was Tim Gay picking up his first win of the season in the Limited Late Models. Scotty Williams, Jason Pope, Koperda and Roger Crouse rounded out the top five.
The final feature of the night went to the Motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers. Dalton Goldhammer, Michael Hart and Brett Calonge won their heat races. For the feature it was Troy Dittebrand and Calonge making up the front row. When the green flag waved on the start, Dittebrand took the lead and led for eight laps. The third caution came out for debris. Michael Hart took over the lead on lap eight. On lap ten, Patrick Fiore, Sr. stopped in turn four bringing out a caution. On the final restart on lap twelve, Hart had George Handy right behind him battling for the last few laps. Handy took over on the final lap picking up his first feature win of the year. Hart finished second with Goldhammer, Connor Reutimann, and Dittebrand rounding out the top five.
