Rod Tucker carried home a $10,000 top prize after winning Saturday night’s Blue Collar Classic Street Stock feature at Georgia’s Lavonia Speedway.
The Greenville, South Carolina speedster started the 50 lap feature from the second starting spot, and raced his way first to the lead, and then to the victory at the 3/8-mile clay raceway.
It marked first win in just his second start on the 2023 season at Lavonia.
Blake Bentley finished in second, with Dalton Peavy in third, Devon Morgan in fourth, and pole sitter Blake Pryor in fifth.
Tyler Davis, Oakley Johns, Luke Scott, Bob Robertson, and Cody Ussery rounded out the top 10.
In other action, Kip Cochran held off Parris Simmons for the Limited Late Model victory. Derrick Harvey finished in third, followed by Austin Fox in fourth, and Bubba Russell in fifth.
Nathan Bray crossed the finish line ahead of Chris Woods to score the 602 Late Model feature win, with Jay Merck in third, Chris Ausburn in fourth, and Seth Christensen in fifth.
Chad Puckett drove to the Modified Street feature win, followed by Jimmy Johnson in second, Phillip Burton in third, Jennifer Everett in fourth, and Drew Griffith in fifth.
Cy Strickland took home top honors in the Open Wheel Modified feature, with James Campbell second, Kevin Lee third, and Chris Segars fourth.
Jimmy Johnson crossed under the finish line ahead of Nathan Bowen to record the Stock 8 feature win. Eric Dove, Tommy Davis, and Anthony Stephens rounded out the top five finishers.
JR Warren scored the Stock 4 feature victory, with Evan Brown in second, Justyn Jacobs in third, Scott Hollars in fourth, and Cohen Fortson in fifth.
Joey Kelley was the winner in the Front Wheel Drive feature. Preston Kelly finished in second, with North West following in third, Wesley Collins in fourth, and Kenneth House, Jr. in fifth.
Racing is slated to return to Lavonia Speedway on Saturday, October 15 for the Hall of Fame Charlie Mize Memorial. For more information, visit LavoniaSpeedway.net.
