Jesse Love took the lead late in the second stage of Saturday night’s Glass City 200 at Ohio’s Toledo Speedway for the ASA Stars National Tour.
From there, Love held on over the final 50-plus laps to score the victory over Cole Butcher and Chase Burda.
It marked the fourth career Super Late Model win for Love, who is the current ARCA Menards Series points leader, and his first under the ASA Stars National Tour banner.
It was a little bit of sweet redemption for the California driver. Not only did he come up short in last year’s ASA/CRA Super Series portion of the Glass City 200, he also finished second after dominating the ARCA Menards Series race at Toledo just a few weeks later.
“I’m just happy to finally win a Super Late Model race again,” Love said. “I feel like I don’t do a good job in these things, I don’t know what it is. I feel like we all did a good job as a team tonight.”
Butcher finished in second, with Burda in third, Senoia, Georgia’s Bubba Pollard in fourth, and Andrick Dimayuga in fifth.
Austin Nason, Billy VanMeter, Scotty Tomasik, Gio Ruggiero, and Logan Bearden rounded out the top 10.
The ASA STARS National Tour gets about a month off before the penultimate race of the season at Indiana’s Winchester Speedway on Sunday, October 15 for the Winchester 400. For more information, visit STARSNationalTour.com.
