Benji Hicks Takes Buck Simmons Memorial Win At Lavonia

Benji Hicks took the lead of Friday night’s Buck Simmons Memorial at Georgia’s Lavonia Speedway on lap 20, and went on to score his second career Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series victory.

Hicks, from Mount Airy, North Carolina, pocketed $7,500 for the victory at the 3/8-mile clay raceway.

Brett Hamm followed in second, with Brent Dixon in third, David McCoy in fourth, and fast qualifier John Henderson in fifth.

Cla Knight, Kenny Collins, Willie Milliken, Adam Yarbrough, and Gray Parton rounded out the top 10.

In other action, Nathan Bray was the winner in the 602 Late Model feature, with Chris Woods in second, Stephen Segars in third, Brady Cornett in fourth, and Hoyt Partain in fifth.

Evan Brown held off Jennifer Everett for the Modified Street feature victory. Johnny Pilgrim followed in third, with Michael Moore in fourth.

Ronnie Poole crossed under the checkered flag first to win the Stock 8 feature, followed by Zack Stewart in second, Mason Johnson in third, Drew Griffeth in fourth, and Nathan Bowen in fifth.

Ronnie Johnson took the win in the Stock 4 feature, with Tyler Johnson, Zac Cox, Elliott Brayboy, and Scott Hollars rounding out the top five.

Bryan Tullis topped the 602 Chargers field for the feature win. Cole McKeehan finished second, with Randy Jackson third, Johnny Crews fourth, and Rafe Ends fifth.

Steven Shedd was the winner in the Front Wheel Drive feature. Eddie Segars was second, with Brandon Grimes third, Danny Anthony fourth, and Jake McBride fifth.
