Mark Ruel, Jr. and Eric Riggins, Jr. both captured USCS Sprint Car Series victories in the Peach State over the weekend.
Ruel, Jr. was the winner on Friday night at Georgia’s Lavonia Speedway, while Riggins, Jr. topped the field on Saturday night at Georgia’s Senoia Raceway.
On Friday, Ruel, Jr. made the most of being the pole sitter by jumping to the early lead over Morgan Havener on the opening lap.
From there, the Jacksonville, Florida racer went on to lead all 30-laps in the3 feature to score his sixth career series victory.
Ruel, Jr. had to fend off Havener for the first half of the race until her car coasted to a stop off turn four at the mid-point of the feature.
Ruel, Jr. then held off Eric Riggins, Jr. over the final 13 laps en route to the win.
Terry Gray finished in third, with Terry Witherspoon in fourth and Jeffrey Newell in fifth.
A pair of home-state drivers finished in the top 10, with Braselton, Georgia’s Matt Linder in eighth and Pendergrass, Georgia’s Brian Thomas in 10th.
Gray, Hayden Campbell, and Havener won their respective heat races, while Ruel, Jr. won the speed dash.
On Saturday night, the top two from Friday were reversed, as Eric Riggins, Jr. of Charlotte, North Carolina scored the victory at Senoia Raceway, holding off Mark Ruel, Jr. to record the win.
Jeffrey Newell, Hayden Martin, and Morgan Havener rounded out the top five.
Matt Linder led the Georgia driver contingent on Saturday night, as he came home in sixth, with Brian Thomas in 19th.
Ruel, Jr., Martin, and Matt Linder won their respective heat races, with Martin also winning the speed dash.
