Jensen Ford and Ross Bailes both carried home winner’s hardware from Ultimate Super Late Model competition over the weekend.
Ford was the winner on Friday night at Virginia’s Natural Bridge Speedway, while Bailes won in the rain shortened event on Saturday at Virginia Motor Speedway located in Jamaica, Virginia.
On Friday night, Jensen Ford held off Brandon Overton to score his first career series win at Natural Bridge Speedway.
The Johnson City, Tennessee native pocketed a $5,000 payday for his efforts in the 40-lap event at the 3/8-mile clay oval.
Overton had to settle for second, with Logan Roberson in third, Zack Mitchell in fourth, and Jason Covert in fifth.
On Saturday night, Ross Bailes was in the right place at the right time. The Clover, South Carolina racer took the lead of the “King of the Commonwealth” event at Virginia Motor Speedway from Brandon Overton on lap 17.
The rains came moments later, halting the race on lap 23. When race officials called the event official, Bailes collected his 10th career series win and a $20,000 grand prize.
Zack Mitchell came home in second, with Ben Watkins in third, Kenny Moreland in fourth, and Dale Hollidge in fifth.
The next event currently scheduled for the Ultimate Super Late Model Series will be on May 29 at Cherokee Speedway Gaffney, South Carolina. For more info, visit UltimateSupers.com.
