Morgan Turpen and Justin Barger carried home the winner’s hardware in USCS Sprint Car Series action over the weekend.
Turpen drove to the victory at South Carolina’s Travelers Rest Speedway on Friday night, while Barger was the winner on Saturday night at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia.
On Friday night, Turpen topped the field in the 25-lap feature around the 3/8-mile clay Travelers Rest Speedway.
The Cordova, Tennessee veteran edged out Mark Ruel, Jr. for the win. Justin Barger followed in third, with NASCAR Cup Series racer Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. in fourth and Terry Witherspoon in fifth.
Ruel, Jr. and Danny Smith won their respective heat races earlier in the night, while Terry Gray won the speed dash.
On Saturday night, the tour traveled to the Peach State, with Justin Barger beating out Danny Smith in the 27-lap Randy Helton Memorial Race at Dixie Speedway.
Landon Britt finished in third, followed by Terry Gray in fourth and Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. in fifth.
Morgan Turpen and Barger won their respective heat races, with Stenhouse, Jr. taking the speed dash win.
Local division winners included Rucker Orr in Steelhead Late Models, Justin Shipley in Crate Late Models, Jonathan Martin in 602 Sportsman, Don Jenkins in Open Wheel Modifieds and Jeremy Williams in Economy Bombers.
The USCS Sprint Car Series is scheduled to return to action on Friday, July 16 at Mississippi’s Greenville Speedway. For more info, visit USCSRacing.com.
