Fowler Cashes In With West Georgia LM Sportsman Win

Cass Fowler scored his second straight Summit Racing Equipment Late Model Sportsman feature victory on Saturday night at West Georgia Speedway in Whitesburg, Georgia.

The Acworth, Georgia speedster led flag-to-flag en route to the victory in the opening round of the Five Star Chrysler Dodge Jeep of Warner Robins Shoot-Out Series at the newly reopened 3/8-mile clay speedway.

Scott Land battled with Matthew Knight and Stevie Brannon throughout the feature, with Land getting the runner up spot, followed by Brannon in third and Knight in fourth. Ryan King came home in fifth.

In other action, Marty Massey picked up an emotional win in the Crate Late Model main event. Massey, the son of the late Bill Massey and brother of track promoter Mayes Massey, made the pass early on in the special $1000 to win race. Massey held back the charge by Blant Duke for the win. Kyler Haygood followed in third, with Jake Traylor in fourth and Jason Deal in fifth.

Cody Newton took the win in the Gerber Collision & Glass Chargers feature, with Landon Frix second, Charles Dettnar third, Cole Barrett fourth and Zane Littleton fifth.

H.B. Duke held off a late charge from Derrick Matthews to win the West Georgia Tire Bomber feature. Ricky Neill, David Jackson, and Jordan Wallace rounded out the top five.

Michael Poss was the winner in the Massey Towing Mini Stock feature. Jay Farmer finished in second, with Jeff Hardin in third.

Jason Young led wire to wire to win the Hot Shots feature, while James Swanger did the same in the Sanders Logging Hobby main event.
