This weekend marks the opening for several area race tracks and touring series, giving fans their first taste of local motorsports competition for the New Year.
Georgia’s Winder-Barrow Speedway’s 2020 season kicks off on Saturday, March 7, as the ¼-mile clay raceway hosts local division action. For more info, visit WinderBarrowSpeedway.com.
Further north, Georgia’s Lavonia Speedway is also slated to open the 2020 season with a full weekend of racing on Saturday, March 7 and Sunday, March 8. Divisions competing on the 3/8-mile clay raceway include the Southeastern Late Models, 602 Late Models, Modified Street, Stock 8, Modified, Stock 4, Young Guns and Front Wheel Drives.
