John Ownbey Records Late Model Victory At Boyd’s

With the points chase coming down to the wire at Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia, John Ownbey picked the right time to visit victory lane.

The Cleveland, Tennessee driver held off Booger Brooks en route to the Super/Limited Late Model feature win Saturday night at the 1/3-mile clay oval.

Jay Scott finished in third, with Robby Mason in fourth and Colby Kilgore in fifth.

It was an off night for division points leader Justin Litchford, who finished in 14th in the feature.

In other action, Jesse Lowe scored the victory in the Crate Late Model feature. Heath Hindman finished in second, with division points leader Bryan Pritchard in third, Sylvan Schuette in fourth and Hayden Ownby in fifth.

Delbert Haynes took the win in the Hobby feature, with Greg Tinker in second, points leader James Burkhart in third, Jeff Allen in fourth and Michael Allen in fifth.

Jerry Coffman was the winner in the Sportsman feature. Spencer Singleton finished in second, with Spencer Singleton in third, Lance Harris in fourth and Josh Beagan in fifth. Division points leader Larry Higgins came home in sixth.

Points leader Brad Cross scored his sixth Hot Shots feature victory of the season. Dakota Brady, Danny Burnette and Cody Johnson rounded out the top four.

Lamar Hughes edged out points leader Tommy Gilbert for the Super Stock feature win. Damon Robinsun rounded out the podium.

Jason Todd took the victory in the Driver Development Class. Courtney Smith finished second, with Sawyer Tinker third, Derek Hicks fourth and division points leader Cade Brookshire fifth.
