Wormy Gaddis proved to be the man to beat at Georgia’s Winder-Barrow Speedway on Saturday night.
The Winder, Georgia speedster drove to the lead in the Modified Street feature, and went on to win during the track’s Jimmy Payne Memorial event.
After a pair of false starts, Gaddis moved to second with a three-wide move on the start, while Ronnie Poole powered to a commanding lead. Gaddis would work over the course of the race to close on Poole, and was cutting into the advantage when Poole’s car suddenly slowed in turn one. The problem was terminal, and Poole’s day was over.
That moved Gaddis to the lead, and he would go on to score the win. Aaron Criswell finished in second, with Jordan Poole in third and Neal Cox in fourth.
In other action, Poole had better luck in the Stock V8 feature, as he held off Jeff Casper to score the win. Mark Chancey finished in third, with Stephen House in fourth and Trey Pilgrim in fifth.
Gus Simpson recorded the Limited Late Model feature victory. Dustin Cason, John Anderson, Ken Lampp and Shane Cox rounded out the top five.
Tyler Canup took top honors in the Hobby feature, with Chris Jones in second, Chase Lampp in third, Dakota Taylor in fourth and David Nash in fifth.
