Kenny Collins parlayed a pole starting position into his first Phillips Group Limited Late Model win of the season Saturday night at Georgia’s Toccoa Raceway.
On a night honoring all active military and veterans, Collins, from Colbert, Georgia, took control of the race at the outset.
Although followed closely by second place finisher David McCoy, Collins was able to stay ahead of the fray to score the win at the historic 5/16 mile clay speedway. Drew Benfield finished in third.
In the FASTRAK Pro Late Model feature, Payton Freeman shot around pole sitter Kenny Collins to take the lead on the opening lap. The 16-year-old from Commerce, Georgia held on for the victory. Collins finished in second, with Adam Smith in third.
Crandall Turner made another trip to Toccoa’s victory lane with a win in the Safety Plus 602 Sportsman feature. Rusty House and John Howard rounded out the podium.
Sterling Helm took the early lead from pole sitter Nick Sellers, and went on to score the Modified Street feature win. Sellers would hang on to finish in second, with Daniel Doster in third.
Bill Pulliam won his fourth straight Toccoa Pro Truck feature victory. Ralph Anderson followed in second, with Terry Calhoun in third.
Jackie Holden led flag-to-flag for the win in the Stock 4 Cylinder feature. Randy Boshears came home in second, followed by Jamie Massey in third.
In the Stock V-8 feature, Ty Anglin charged from his fifth place starting spot to the victory. Anglin took the lead on lap 6 and held onto the top spot despite a heavy challenge from both Nathan Bowen and Cameron Collett. Bowen would have to settle for second, while Collett crashed hard on the final lap of the race. Lisa Calhoun would cross the finish line in third.
