Ross Bailes and Casey Roberts both scored victories in Ultimate Super Late Model Series action over the weekend.
Bailes was the winner on Friday night at South Carolina’s Laurens County Speedway, while Roberts recorded the victory at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia.
On Friday, Bailes led wire-to-wire en route to the win in the third annual Ronnie Brookshire Memorial at Laurens County Speedway.
The victory was worth $4,014.21 to the Clover, South Carolina driver.
Bailes started the night by setting fast time in qualifying with a lap at 14.618 seconds. He then held off challenges from Casey Roberts through the 40 lap feature. In the closing laps, Roberts would close on Bailes’ back bumper but could not make the pass.
Roberts had to settle for second, with Brett Hamm in third, Trent Ivey in fourth and Zack Mitchell in fifth.
On Saturday night, Casey Roberts recorded a home state win at Georgia’s Dixie Speedway.
It marked the 21st series victory for the Toccoa, Georgia driver, giving him a $4,000 payday.
Justin Shipley led the first ten laps of the feature, until Michael Page charged to the point. Page would hold the lead until lap 28, when Roberts overtook him.
Roberts went on to lead the final 12 laps en route to the victory.
Page finished in second, with Chris Madden in third, Shipley in fourth and Jonathan Davenport in fifth.
Local division winners included Dale Thurman in Steelhead Late Models, Matt Bishop in Crate Late Models, Jonathan Martin in Sportsman, Eric Hamby in Economy Bombers and Jason Young in Street Stingers.
